Privacy Policy
Effective 21 September 2026
Pacific Storm Watch (“the app” and the website at pacificstorm.watch) is published by Hana Pono Data Kauaʻi LLC. We do not collect personal data. There is no account, and the maps work without signing in.
What the app does
The app shows live Eastern and Central Pacific tropical cyclone information (tracks, cones, ensembles) and Hawaiʻi rainfall using public National Hurricane Center and National Weather Service data. Weather content is loaded from NOAA servers. We do not require an account to use the maps.
Data
- None by default. The native apps do not create user accounts, do not use advertising identifiers, and do not request location, contacts, photos, or microphone access.
- Optional push alerts (iOS). If you turn alerts on, Apple gives the app a device token and you choose islands. We store that token and those choices only so we can send the alert. Turning alerts off deletes them. We do not use them for anything else.
- Optional web donations are processed by Stripe. Stripe receives the payment details you submit. We receive confirmation of the amount, not your full card number.
- Optional in-app tips on iOS and Android are processed by Apple and Google as in-app purchases. We do not receive your payment card details.
- Server logs on the website may include standard request metadata (IP address, user agent, time) for security and reliability, retained only as long as needed to operate the service.
What we do not do
We do not sell personal information. We do not use third-party advertising SDKs or cross-app tracking. We do not use your data to build marketing profiles.
Children
The app is a public weather desk and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
